Please join us on Wednesday, September 18th when David A Herpe, McDermott Will & Emery LLP will be presented with the Austin Fleming Distinguished Service Award and will discuss "The What, When and How of Noncharitable Purpose Trusts"

A noncharitable purpose trust is a trust that exists to carry out a specific purpose enumerated in the trust instrument rather than to benefit one or more human or charitable beneficiaries. This presentation will address the background of purpose trusts and the Illinois Trust Code provisions which authorize them, the different types of purpose trusts, some variations in state laws authorizing purpose trusts, drafting challenges, tax-related concerns and funding strategies. Several hypothetical planning situations also will be considered.
